Dr. Jelic MD, DMD is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia as well as a degree in Dentistry from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He also has 7 additional years of combined residencies in Hospital Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery, as well as two more years of surgical fellowships, one in orthognathic surgery and skeletal reconstruction of the face and the other in soft tissue management and facial cosmetic surgery. Previously Director of Aesthetic Surgery for the UNC Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he also spent 8 years caring for our nationâ€™s military veterans and still teaches residents as a Staff Surgeon at the Durham VA Hospital. Our facility is equipped with "SimPlant", a tremendous diagnostic and treatment planning software assuring the highest degree of accuracy for placing implants. SimPlant allows maximal function and aesthetic benefit even with the most complex jaw, bone and dental reconstruction. SimPlant also allows for no incision, minimally invasive surgery and with "Immediate Smile" software, the same day restoration of implants. For our patients requiring facial bone reconstruction such as orthognathic corrective jaw surgery for malocclusion or sleep apnea, we combine "Medical Modeling Virtual Surgical Planning" software with the Dolphin Imaging System. This ensures the most accurate diagnosis and treatment planning possible. But we didnâ€™t forget about you. We have created a calm and private environment to alleviate as much anxiety as possible. Our electronic records and on-line forms allow you to quickly and accurately complete all documentation necessary to your consultation, in the familiar surroundings of home or work.
