Dr. Jeffrey Lunn is a highly accomplished cardiac anesthesiologist, who has brought an extraordinary level of experience and expertise to KRMC.
Dr. Lunn spent eighteen years of his career with the Mayo Health System. Along with his practice as an anesthesiologist, he served as a special clinic fellow, assistant professor, and a consultant with the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He also served as chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and chair of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
During his time with Mayo, he also conducted important research on a number of critical care and anesthesia issues. He has published and lectured extensively and is known for his expertise in thoracic and cardiovascular anesthesia and in the physiology of critically ill patients. His professional interests also involve research in catecholamines, neuropeptides, and tactical emergency medical services.
After leaving Mayo in 2000, Dr. Lunn was in private practice in Hawaii, Wyoming, Arizona, and New Mexico. He came to KRMC in 2006, after learning about the hospital’s plans to start an open heart program. He says that he "wanted to cap his career by helping to create something" and that KRMC offered just the right opportunity. He adds that he "enjoys this hospital" and is "impressed by the administration’s motivation to do the right things for the community."
