Brief Intro

Dr. Pearce joined Athens Vascular Specialists in August of 2008 after earning his undergraduate degree and medical degree at the University of Florida, and completing his General and Vascular surgery fellowship training at Wake Forest University. He has authored over 15 peer reviewed publications, book chapters, and numerous invited presentations, and maintains a strong interest in teaching, working with the Medical College of Georgia Physician Assistant program and the Georgia Health Sciences University Medical Partnership. Additional ongoing professional activities include working with local nephrologists to improve the care of kidney failure patients and volunteering his time regularly through the Mercy Health Center to provide surgical care to the indigent and less fortunate members of the Athens Community. Dr. Pearce is an active member of the medical staff at both Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Marys Hospital. He is an active member in many leading medical organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Vascular Ultrasound, and the Southeastern Surgical Congress. His practice interests include complex aortic and peripheral vascular reconstruction for aneurysm and occlusive disease, carotid disease, varicose vein disease and hemodialysis access.
