Dr. Jason Huang is a board certified neurosurgeon and Chief of Neurosurgery at Highland Hospital. He has a busy clinical practice in Rochester, New York and his clinical interests include complex spine surgery, peripheral nerve surgery and neurotrauma. Dr. Huang graduated magna cum laude in neurosciences from Amherst College and received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed neurosurgical training at University of Pennsylvania and was the recipient of the David Kline Award, Codman Award, as well as NIH NRSA Award during his residency. He is also a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve and was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008. Dr. Huang is a faculty member at Center for Neural Development and Disease at University of Rochester with an active NIH funded research laboratory including a recently awarded R01. His basic research interest focuses on brain, spinal cord and nerve injury and repair.
