Background I am a general Obstetrician Gynecologist with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery (surgery using laparoscopes, hysteroscopes introduced through very small incisions) and mid-life womenâ€™s health. I am one of a core group of three physicians at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael, Petaluma and Novato who perform laparoscopic hysterectomies, which allow women to go home on the same day that they have surgery and to return to work within 2-3 weeks. I also continue to cover shifts in Labor and Delivery at KP-San Francisco and find the variety as well as the opportunity to work with and teach the SF Residents both challenging and enjoyable. Roles and Responsibilities I am the KP-San Rafael Womenâ€™s Health Liaison and the KP-Northern California Mid-Life Womenâ€™s Health Consultant. My Staff Every member of our San Rafael OBGYN department considers you their patient. Our Physicians and Nurse Practitioners work closely with our Nurses and Medical Assistants and spend a good deal of time on education. This is reflected in the quality of the advice that you will receive if you call our department and the efficiency, which our staff aim to achieve when addressing your needs. My Colleagues I feel fortunate to be a member of the well-respected team of physicians who staff Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael, Novato, and Petaluma. Our ability to work well together has made it easy to learn new skills and keep up in a rapidly changing field.
