Brief Intro

Dr. Claflin is a member of the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic. He was raised in the hometown of the movie, "Twister", Wakita, Oklahoma. An undergraduate degree was obtained at Northwestern Oklahoma State University with medical school training at the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine. Pediatric training was completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, with a Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas. After several years in the Air Force, Dr. Claflin established Southwest Asthma and Allergy Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas. After several years in solo practice, he returned home to become a member of the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he practices full-time allergy and clinical immunology. Dr Claflin has been active in the Oklahoma County Medical Society, serving as a Director, President-Elect, and President. In the past few years, he has served on various councils, committees, and task forces, as well as being past Chair, Council on Medical Services for the Oklahoma State Medical Association. State task force or committee assignments have included the Mold Task Force, Governor's Task Force for HIPAA Implementation, and the Needlestick Injury Protection Committee. American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) activities have included Speaker, House of Delegates, and multiple committee assignments including Adverse Reaction to Foods, By-Laws (past Chair), Site Selection, Membership Recruitment (past Chair) and Continuing Medical Education/Continuing Professional Development (past Chair). He has served as an Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association for the Oklahoma State Medical Association. Since 2001, Dr. Claflin has established a physician exchange program with Oklahoma's Sister-State, Gansu Province, People's Republic of China. The "tenth" class is scheduled to arrive in April, 2012. For time spent with Chinese physician colleagues. Dr. Claflin received the George Nigh Global Trade Award, 2006, and the Dunhuang Award from the Gansu Provincial Peoples Government, 2007. Dr. Claflin and his wife, Marcee, live in Edmond, Oklahoma, where they are or have been actively involved in community activities, e.g., Edmond Fine Arts Council (President, Marcee). He is past Secretary of the Leadership Oklahoma City Alumni Board. They are members of the Henderson Hills Baptist Church.
