James Newby, MD is a native of Kansan, born and raised on a farm in Neodesha. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor?s degree in 1956 and received his medical degree in 1959. Dr. Newby completed his internship in Greeley Colorado in 1960. He completed general surgery training and thoracic surgery training in 1966. Dr Newby is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He practiced with the Wichita Surgical Group for 29 years and at the Galichia Medical Group until he retired from surgery in 2004. Dr. Newby is currently seeing cardiology patients at the Wichita office and travels across the state seeing cardiology patients in the rural setting on a part-time basis.
