James Ampadu, MD, is a cardiologist with special interests including cardiogenic shock management-temporary and durable, left ventricular device therapies and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, racial disparities within cardiology, heart failure and cognition, cardiac amyloidosis, and reducing heart failure readmissions. Dr. Ampadu earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at the University of California in San Diego. Dr. Ampadu is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the following two areas: internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Ampadu is a member in the following professional associations: American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and the Heart Failure Society of America.
