Brief Intro

Dr. Cockrell graduated from the University of South Alabama with a BS in Biology and received his MD from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. Dr Cockrell completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of South Alabama. He also completed his Fellowship training with Dr. John Garrett at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA in Sports Medicine. Dr. Cockrell is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in disorders of the knee and shoulder. He is a member of most area hospital staffs, the American Medical Association, Mobile County Medical Association and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Cockrell is the team physician for several local high schools as well as the Medical Director of the Azalea Trail Run, Alabama- Mississippi All Star high school football game, Orthopedic Doctor for the GMAC Bowl and is on the medical committee for the Senior Bowl. He is married to Brook and has three children, Carson, Bailey and Cage. In Dr. Cockrell?s free time he enjoys playing golf.
