Brief Bio:
Dr. Coticchia is the Founder President of the Pediatric ENT Clinic of Michigan. He is a fellowship trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist. With more than 15 years experience, Dr. Coticchia is recognized as one of the best Pediatric ENT surgeons in Michigan and among the top scientists in this field.
He has been serving southeast Michigan since 2003 and has treated children as well as adults with complex diseases of head & neck.
Training & Education:
Dr. Coticchia received his Medical Doctorate from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed a six year residency in Otolaryngology at Barnes Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine. Following his residency training, he completed a two year fellowship in Pediatric ENT at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Clinical and Research Interests:
Dr. Coticchia has been an invited speaker both nationally and internationally, has authored numerous book chapters, and has over 50 peer reviewed publications. In addition, Dr. Coticchia has an active interest in the causes of ear infections and sinus infections in children.
His clinical interests include management of the pediatric airway, acute and chronic ear diseases in children, and hearing loss. He also has a strong interest in pediatric sinus disease and management of acquired and congenital head and neck masses in children.
Clinical & Surgical Innovations:
Dr. Coticchia has significant experience dealing with a wide variety of surgical techniques in pediatric otolaryngology and has pioneered new techniques in image guided surgery for management of congenital craniofacial problems in children. In addition, Dr. Coticchia has also developed new minimally invasive techniques: (1) to treat chronic rhinosinusitis which is a common problem in children, and (2) to eliminate visible scars in children undergoing neck node biopsies.
