James A. Stewart, MD, a boardcertified physician, received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Mass. Dr. Stewart served in the U.S. Navy for two years as a general medical officer. Dr. Stewart is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a member of the American College of Physicians, and past president of the Bon Secours Maryview Medical Staff. Dr. Stewart is an Ohio native. He is married and has two children. He has been in practice in the Portsmouth/Chesapeake area since 1978.
