Israel Wiznitzer, M.D. is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
He completed the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University and received his M.D. degree in 1978. He completed his internship and residency at Northwestern University and his post-doctoral Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Yale University School of Medicine.
Prior to moving to South Florida, Dr. Wiznitzer practiced with Hematology-Oncology Associates of Illinois. He had clinical academic appointments at Northwestern University Medical School and Rush Medical School. He was medical director of the Midwest Cancer Research Group, a Community Group Oncology Program affiliated with the Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
From September 2002 until July 2004, Dr. Wiznitzer practiced oncology and was the research director for the Lynn Regional Cancer Center West in Boca Raton.
In August of this year, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale to assume the position of Medical Director of Cancer Clinical Research for the North Broward Hospital District.
He is currently in practice at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Broward General Medical Center where he is also building a hospital based cancer program.
He is an active participant in National Cancer Institute Cooperative Group Trials as well as pharmaceutical industry sponsored studies. He brings expertise in clinical research with an emphasis on new therapies and investigational agents to Broward General.
