Iman R. Sami-Zakhari, MD earned her bachelor's degree from University of Khartoum, Khartoum, Sudan. She went to medical school at University of Khartoum and University of Liverpool, UK for post-graduate training. Dr. Sami completed her residency at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA. After her residency, she completed her pediatric pulmonary medicine fellowship at Children's National Medical Center. Dr. Sami is an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship Program at Children’s National Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology. Dr. Sami has been practicing in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center for over 7 years. She is particularly interested in Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, BPD, and sleep, with specific research in the area of pulmonary function testing.
