Dr. Chen is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, diabetes issues related to the eye, macular degeneration and retinal diseases. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, both in Philadelphia. He then finished a residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, followed by a fellowship at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Chen has been named as a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
