Having been in private practice for over twenty five years, Dr. Carr brings a wide range of experience, a depth of knowledge, and a sense of humility to his practice of Otolaryngology. The son of an executive in a major American corporation, he spent his childhood living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Lansing, Michigan; Portland, Oregon; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated with honors from Rhodes College in Memphis where his field of interest was Biopsychology. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Tennessee with honors in Anatomy. A flexible internship followed with his time equally divided among Medicine, Surgery and Pediatrics which included training at the Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital of Memphis. He completed his surgical training including rotations in Neurosurgery in 1980. A Diplomat of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Carr completed his residency at the University of Colorado where he served as the Chief Resident. His training included: microsurgery of the ear, head and neck cancer surgery, surgery of the nose and sinuses, voice surgery, hearing and balance training and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Carr is a member of the following societies: The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, The American Medical Association, The Colorado Medical Society, The Denver Medical Society and The Arapahoe County Medical Society. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves on the committee for the Colorado new candidates to the American College of Surgeons. He is the past president of the Summit View Surgery Center and past board member of the Mountain Medical Affiliates, PPO. He is currently on the credentials committee of the Lincoln Surgery Center. He was voted by his fellow physicians in 5280 Magazine as one of the best Otolaryngologists in Denver and received the same honor from Channel 9 News and the Denver Post Magazine. Dr. Carr is happily married and is the father of three daughters. He taught Children's Chapel and served as a Chalice Minister at his church. His hobbies include: fly fishing, skiing and cycling. He enjoys playing guitar (not very well), traveling and reading. His volunteer work has been with the Rose Cleft Palate Clinic.
