Dr. George Leonard Hess, DDS

Dr. George L Hess III The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience. Dr. Hess is a graduate of the Marquette University School of Dentistry. He completed a general practice residency in Portland, Oregon before returning to Sheboygan to start his own practice. Dr. Hess is a member of many dental organizations including: Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) American Dental Association (ADA) Academy of General Dentists (AGD) Spear Faculty Club Member Sheboygan County Dental Society (SCDS) Dr. Hess served as the President of the Sheboygan County Dental Society (2009). He also held positions on the Board of Directors, as a WDA delegate, and Vice-President for the SCDS. Dr. Hess enjoys providing dental care for those less fortunate through the Salvation Army Dental Clinic and the Lakeshore Community Dental Clinic. Dr. Hess has participated in Climb for a Cause in which over $60,000 in funds, goods and services were raised for Operation Smile. Dr. Hess along with 14 other dentists climbed to the summit of Mt. Rainier in support of this cause. Since 1982, OperationSmile, a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization, has been providing dentistry, reconstructive surgery, and related health care to children and young adults. Together, they have provided life-changing surgery to over 15,000 children in twelve countries and over 20,000 children here in the US. Dr. Hess enjoys many activities in his free time including golf, triathlons, whitewater rafting, downhill skiing, as well as watching football and basketball games. Dr. Hess and his wife have a five year old daughter, Amber. Sara, Office Manager Sara is our Office Manager. She is a graduate of UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree. Before joining our team, she was employed by an oral surgeon's office in Madison and Milwaukee. In addition, she worked with a dental consulting organization in Appleton. Sara joined our dental team when the practice first opened in September of 2000. She truly enjoys working with patients and helping them achieve the best smile possible!  Her interests include travel, waterskiing, downhill skiing, and triathlons. She trains for several  triathlons each year and recently competed in her first Ironman triathlon. When she is not swimming, biking, or running, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Mindy, Registered Dental Hygienist Mindy has worked in the dental field since 1995. Before becoming a dental hygienist, she worked as both a receptionist and dental assistant. She recevied her dental hygiene degree from the Milwaukee Area Technical Institute. She is certified in both CPR and Local Anesthetic Delivery. Mindy's friendly smile always makes patients feel comfortable. Her outside interests include horseback riding, waterskiing, running, biking, and spending time with her husband, and three wonderful children.  Jenna, Office Assistant Jenna joined our team in June of 2010. Before joining our practice, she worked as a receptionist in the medical field for three years. Jenna enjoys working with people and doing a variety of tasks in our dental office. Her hobbies include art, horseback riding, running, biking, traveling, baking, hiking and spending time with friends and family. Lynn, Dental Assistant Lynn's dental experience stems from several years working for an oral surgeon in the Oshkosh area. She studied Biological Sciences at UW-Milwaukee and also attended MATC. She recently started her own photography business. During her free time, Lynn enjoys sailing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
