Dr. Gary Schmidt is a board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon specializing in post-traumatic reconstruction of the foot and ankle, foot and ankle deformity in adults, athletic injuries, and common foot problems, including bunions and heel pain. He received his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine. Dr. Schmidt has been in practice for more than two decades and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Royal College of Surgeons, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and Academy of American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Prior to joining OrthoONE Dr. Schmidt was a physician in a large orthopedic practice in St. Louis, Missouri where he also was a clinical instructor at the Washington University Department of Orthopedics and St. Louis University Department of Orthopedics as well as an instructor at Concordia University. Additionally, he served as a team physician for the McGill Redman hockey team. Dr. Schmidt has been published in various medical journals.
