Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia in 1983, Dr. Holland embarked on a journey marked by unwavering commitment to serving others.
His pursuit of excellence led him to the Medical College of Virginia, where he earned his MD in 1987. Following this milestone, Dr. Holland undertook residency training in Boise, Idaho, completing it in 1990 and subsequently achieving Board Certification in Family Medicine.
In 1998, driven by a deep sense of purpose, Dr. Holland ventured to Pastaza, Ecuador, where he immersed himself in the local community, mastering the Spanish language, and offering his medical expertise at a Christian mission hospital. Returning to the United States in 2002, Dr. Holland transitioned his focus to hospice and palliative care, recognizing the critical need for specialized support in end-of-life scenarios. As the full-time Medical Director of Home Medical Services, he extends his remarkable talent and empathetic bedside manner to patients, ensuring comfort and dignity in their final moments, irrespective of language barriers, as he proficiently communicates in both English and Spanish.
In 2004, Dr. Holland attained Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care, distinguishing himself as a leading expert in pain management and patient-centered end-of-life care.
