Dr. Williams has been a practicing board certified orthopedic surgeon in Schenectady since 1978. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. His orthopedic training was obtained at Albany Medical Center from 1972 to 1975. He then served as Chief of the Orthopedic Department at Albany Veterans Hospital. While in the Navy from 1976 to 1978 he was stationed at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Millington, Tennessee where he served as Chief of Orthopedics. During his years in Schenectady he has been a staff orthopedic surgeon at Ellis Hospital and Sunnyview Hospital. He is currently Chief of Medical Staff, Department of Orthopedics at Sunnyview Hospital and sits on various committees. As a clinical assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical Center, he continues to be involved in education of medical and physician assistant students as well as orthopedic residents. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
His practice focuses on the entire spectrum of musculoskeletal disease including adult and pediatric orthopedics, trauma, total joint arthroplasty of the knees, hips and shoulders, foot and ankle diseases and arthroscopy. As co-founder and current co-medical director of the The Center for Sports Medicine, Dr. Williams is highly involved in the treatment of sports related injuries.
