Dr. Ethan Puryear, born and raised in Wadesboro, NC, holds a history degree from NC State University and a biology degree from UNC Greensboro. He worked full-time for the YMCA of the Triangle in youth programs, developing a passion for working with children, and spent time at Camps Seafarer and Sea Gull on the North Carolina coast. Known for his quick wit and song-leading skills, Dr. Ethan earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at VCU, where he was involved with Give a Kid a Smile, early childhood dental education, and the M.O.M. project. Inspired by his work with the Child Health Investment Partnership of Roanoke Valley, he began his career in the New River Valley of Southwest Virginia. A board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, he is also a member of the ADA, VDA, and AAPD. Dr. Ethan enjoys making dental care fun for children and believes that optimal oral health in childhood lays the foundation for lifelong excellent oral health. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, and spending time with his wife E.A. and their four daughters.
