Dr. Eric Porritt is a general Orthopedic Surgeon that specializes in fracture care and Hip and Knee joint replacement. As a native of the Sooner state, he received his Bachelors of Science at the University of Oklahoma. He attended medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and did an Orthopedic residency at St. James/Christ Hospital Chicago. Dr. Porritt served in the Army and started his Orthopedic career on active duty in Landstuhl Germany. He was selected to deploy to Afghanistan with the elite 160th Forward Surgical Team (FST) where he supported Special Forces operations. His extensive trauma experience lead him to help two Hospitals transition from community hospitals to Level II Trauma Centers, one in Denver CO, and the other in Utica NY. He currently practices at the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center (OSC) in Norman OK, where he offers a full range of general orthopedics with a special interest in Hip and Knee replacement in addition to Trauma. Despite his strong background in war and civilian trauma, his true love is hip replacement, specializing in it from the beginning with the unique SuperPATH approach. This elegant approach is proving to be the most tissue-sparring hip replacement approach with some of the lowest rates of complications. He also performs total knee replacements, including the highly touted Oxford partial knee replacement. He believes in a very customizable and personalized approach to practicing medicine and surgery, rather than the typical “one size fits no-one” approach so commonly seen.Dr. Porritt has been described as warm, personal, and honest. He is known for helping patients understand all their treatment options and deciding what's best for them. Patients constantly comment on his ability to communicate plainly in understandable terms and make people comfortable.Call today to book an appointment with Dr. Porritt!
