Overview
Dr. Sklar was born in New York and grew up in Potomac, Maryland. He returned to the metropolitan Washington, DC area after having spent several years in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia for his education and medical training. His medical specialties include: Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Epilepsy, Neuromuscular Disease, Sleep Medicine and Migraines. Dr. Sklar has practiced with Inova ALFA Neurology since completing his training in 2003.
Degrees and Certifications
Dr. Sklar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan in 1993 and his MD degree in 1998 from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After completing an internship in internal medicine in the University of Maryland Medical System, he completed his neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His fellowship training has given him additional expertise in neurophysiologic testing including EEG and EMG/NCS, which is used in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, seizures, and neuromuscular disorders.
Dr. Sklar is Board Certified in: Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Vascular Neurology.
