Dr. Lawrason-Kobobel grew up in Maine and first learned about Osteopathic Medicine from the book Spontaneous Healing by Andrew Weil, MD. She was inspired by Weil's description of the late Dr. Robert Fulford, an osteopath who treated patients using osteopathic manual medicine. She received her medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, CA. She completed her internship at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, Michigan and her residency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Lawrason-Kobobel is board certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. In her training at St. Barnabas Hospital, every mother and newborn was given hands-on osteopathic treatment, as well as surgical, internal medicine and pediatric patients alike. There were also many patients who were given osteopathic treatment in outpatient clinics. After residency, she practiced for three years in Denver, Colorado with Dr. Maria Gentile D.O. at Colorado Osteopathic and Integrative Medicine Associates. Dr. Lawrason-Kobobel now lives in Bend, Oregon with her family. She specializes in cranial osteopathy, as well as other gentle forms of osteopathic treatment. She also has a special interest in nutrition and functional medicine.
