Liz Bennett, MD, is a Board-certified general surgeon with AdventHealth Medical Group General Surgery. She performs a wide range of surgical procedures, and sees patients at both AdventHealth Shawnee Mission and AdventHealth South Overland Park. Dr. Bennett earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where she was named to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her general surgery residency through UMKC, at Truman Medical Center and Saint Luke’s Hospital, during which time she was honored as Intern of the Year and Resident of the Year. Prior to joining AdventHealth in 2021, Dr. Bennett worked as a general and trauma surgeon at hospitals in New York and Missouri. She is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Her volunteer experience includes medical mission trips to Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Uganda.
