Dr. Earl Zimmerman specializes in behavioral neurology -- specifically memory loss, confusional states, Alzheimers disease, other dementias, and neurodegenerative diseases. He has a unique ability to comprehensively diagnose, treat, and manage these conditions. As Director of the Alzheimers Center and Director of Clinical Research for the Neurosciences Institute, Dr. Zimmerman is widely recognized for his clinical research centered on Alzheimers disease: "Our Center is a major player in the region conducting clinical research including drug trials. These are long term diseases and we manage them from beginning to end," he explains. Dr. Zimmermans research efforts culminated in the establishment of the Neurosciences Advanced Imaging Research Center (NRC) and Alzheimer's Center at Albany Medical Center. An important element to his research is his patients. His approach to patient care is one where he guides patients and their families through the disease every step of the way.
