A native of Columbus, NE, Dr. Donald J. Walla, MD joined practice with Nebraska Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine in April 2003, after having started private practice at Lincoln Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. Completing his medical school and orthopedic residency training at the Univ. of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Walla opted to advance his skills further, and continued with orthopedic Fellowship Training in Sports Medicine & Trauma at the University of Iowa Medical Center in 1983. Dr. Walla has authored on subjects including Pelvic & Hip Fractures; Treatment of Intertrochanteric and Subtrochanteric Fractures of the Femur; Muscle Strength on Anterolateral Rotary Instability of the Knee; and Hamstring Control and the Unstable Anterior Cruciate Deficient Knee. For the more than for 10 years, Dr. Walla has also provided orthopedic specialty care in the Syracuse & Fairbury, NE communities.
