Brief Intro

Dr. Hari Tumu came to Austin in 2002 after completing residency training at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He has a wide range of interests in both spinal and cranial surgery. In fact, Dr. Tumu was the first neurosurgeon in Central Texas to have performed an awake craniotomy. He uses the METRx system to perform minimally invasive spinal surgery. He also performs decompressions, fusions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine for traumatic, degenerative, neoplastic conditions. He is trained in the implantation of the Prestige artificial cervical disk, and performs a variety of cranial procedures, for treatment of tumors, vascular disorders, trauma and more. He also performs epilepsy surgery. Dr. Tumu is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. His interests include reading, travel, art, music, and Austin eateries.
