Dev R. Gupta MD is Chief of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from the American Heart Association for his work in developing programs for the treatment of stroke. Under the leadership of Dr. Gupta, the Stroke Treatment Program at Hackensack University Medical Center was a major component of the efforts that led to the Pursuit of Perfection Award. In a nationwide competition, only 10 hospitals across the country were selected to receive this prestigious award, which includes a major research grant. Dr. Gupta served as Chief of Neurology at Pascack Valley Hospital for seven years and was full time Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at New York Medical College before entering private practice. Dr. Gupta graduated from Government Medical College in India and was an Instructor in Medicine at Punjab University before coming to the United States for residency in Neurology. Dr. Gupta is Board Certified in Neurology and has been appointed a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. He is one of the few neurologists in New Jersey who is also Board Certified in Stroke and Vascular Neurology. Dr. Gupta has been named as one of the best doctors in Bergen County by (201) Magazine.
