Derek Johnson, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified physician specializing in orthopedic surgery at AdventHealth Parker. Dr. Johnson sees adults for joint and bone conditions like hip and knee pain, arthritis, meniscal tears, ACL tears, cartilage injuries and painful hip and knee replacement needing revision.
Dr. Johnson received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Michigan State University (MSU) College of Medicine and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at MSU’s Grand Rapids Research Center. He completed hip and knee replacement fellowship training at the Rocky Mountain Joint Replacement Fellowship. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Central Michigan University.
He’s a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA). He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS).
