Dr. Moore is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. A native Wichitan, he completed his intern and residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is Board Certified in both Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. While at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, he received several research awards, including an American Cancer Society fellowship. Among his other honors are the Clifton D. Howe Award for Excellence in Medical Oncology, and he was named the Chief Medical Oncology Fellow. Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined the academic staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Hematology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
In 1994 he moved to Wichita with his family, where he is in the practice of hematology, medical oncology and bone marrow transplant. Dr. Moore is the author of over 80 scientific publications, has had presentations at national conferences, and has written several book chapters and patient monographs. He is fluent in Spanish and French, and has traveled extensively in Mexico and South America.
He continues to be active in clinical cancer research, and is a participant in our Wichita CCOP Program and other areas of clinical research. He currently holds appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Hematology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, as well as Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine- Wichita. Dr. Moore is the Executive Vice President of the Kansas Chapter of the Leukemia Society of America. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplant.
