David O. Childers, M.D., is a University of Florida associate professor of pediatrics and a board-certified pediatrician specializing in neurodevelopmental disabilities and developmental-behavioral pediatrics at UF Health in Jacksonville. He also serves as chief of the UF Division of Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics, chief of the UF Division of General Academic Pediatrics, and medical director of the Early Steps Program in Jacksonville. He received his medical degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He completed a pediatrics residency at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, Virginia, as well as a fellowship in neurodevelopmental disabilities at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
