Brief Intro

I am interested in a holistic approach to patient care. I feel that the emotional and spiritual component and family environment of the patient is an important part of his or her wellness and illness. I am particularly interested in mind/body medicine. I also have an interest in combining western and alternative medicine in a reliable, safe and effective manner. I am a member of the Chronic Pain Committee and am interested in the use of complementary medicine to manage chronic pain - particularly meditation and mind-body techniques. I have worked on Institute for Clinical Systems Integration guideline teams for anxiety and depression. I want to help improve their detection and management in the primary care setting. I am involved in clinical research to study ways to do this more effectively. I also have a strong interest in medical bio-ethics and its application in the day-to-day care of patients.
