Dr. Shapiro is a 1974 graduate of Wabash College located in Crawfordsville, Indiana and is a 1978 graduate of Indiana University Medical School. He served his residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie from 1978 until 1981. He began his career in medicine in private practice and then joined Anderson Family Health Specialists to become one of the group's founding members. Dr. Shapiro is a member of and board certified through the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Shapiro was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He and his wife, Kathleen, have made their home in Anderson since moving there in 1989. They have two grown daughters. Dr. Shapiro and his family attend St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson. His interests include coin collecting, playing cards and the stock market.
His special areas of interest include preventive medicine and in-office surgical procedures. Dr. Shapiro's desire is to help all his patients obtain and maintain the best possible health.
