Dr Fagel is a native of Cincinnati , Ohio . He is currently residing in Northern Kentucky with his family. Dr Fagel obtained his medical license in 1985 from the University of Cincinnati . In July 1991 after completing his internship, residency and fellowship at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics he joined the practice of Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates. He is board certified by The American Board of Gastroenterology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has a special interest in liver disease. His hospital affiliations include St Elizabeth Healthcare (formerly St Elizabeth Medical Centers and the St Luke Hospitals) and Health South Rehabilitation Hospital all located in Northern Kentucky . He has served on many committees associated with Tri-State Digestive Disorder Center as well area hospital and local communities. He serves on St Elizabeth Medical Center Review Committee for Internal Medicine, the St Elizabeth Medical Center Residency Committee and is a Northern Kentucky delegate for the Kentucky Medical Association. From 1996-1997 he was the President of the Northern Kentucky Medical Society. Dr Fagel was named Teacher of the Year for St Elizabeth Medical Center Family Practice Center for the years 1996-1997, 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 Dr Fagel belongs to many professional societies including American Gastroenterological Association, Gastrointestinal Videoendoscopy Association of America, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology.
