Brief Intro

As a boy, curiosity about how the body worked and an interest in looking inside the body to figure it out spurred Dr. Shericks excitement about medicine. Later, the desire to help others became the main motivator for a career in medicine. Dr. Sherick has been in practice since 1991 and his clinical interests include cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, encompassing breast reconstruction after cancer surgery. His patients are consistently very happy with their surgical outcomes. They are equally pleased with Dr. Shericks ability to explain procedures and make the plastic surgery process a safe, caring and comfortable experience. He also actively volunteers with Interplast, an international plastic surgery organization that provides free medical care to children and adults with birth deformities. He has helped improve the quality of life for many patients in Mali, Brazil and Vietnam by reconstructing cleft palates, cleft lips, birth defects and burns. In fact, he considers traveling to Timbuktu and Mali, and operating on people who would not otherwise have the opportunity for modern medical/surgical care, as his most rewarding experience as a surgeon. Dr. Sherick finds Forest Health Medical Center a small, personalized place to practice medicine and for his patients to have procedures done. Dr. Sherick treasures his family life. An Ann Arbor native, he and his wife live in Ann Arbor with their two children. He enjoys traveling, woodworking, working out and fencing.
