Brief Intro

I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, went to medical school in St. Louis, did my training in Detroit and couldn't be happier living in the Pacific Northwest. I wanted to be a doctor from as far back as I can remember. I am married and have one boy and two girls. I spend much time (possibly too much time) running, biking, swimming and lifting weights. My family has enjoyed taking trips to different parts of the country so I can participate in running marathons. I get enjoyment playing a clarinet; listeners not so much. About my practice Dermatology is an exciting, dynamic and interesting specialty which gives us the opportunity to see males and females of all ages and to treat a wide variety of conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails. We are fortunate to be living at a time when so many treatments are available while new and innovative therapies are being developed. It is rare that we are unable to come up with a treatment that would be beneficial in some way. The goal for each encounter is to work with a patient to come up with the treatment that is likely to deliver the most benefit with the fewest possible side effects in any given situation.How I thrive It is a privilege to be part of a medical group and department that is committed to providing outstanding patient care for our members and to contributing to our community. I am proud to have developed a teledermatology program with the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, in which clinicians there are able to e-mail patient photos to me so that I can provide advice regarding diagnosis and treatment. I also regularly volunteer for community skin cancer screening clinics.
