Brief Intro

Christopher A. Sy, MD is a neurosurgeon who specializes in treating spinal conditions. Dr. Sy was born and raised in San Diego, CA. His father was a US Navy corpsman and his mother worked as an accountant – both were immigrants from the Philippines. After high school, Dr. Sy completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA where he earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. He then pursued a graduate degree at the Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA where he earned a master’s degree in medical sciences. From there, he attended medical school at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society. After earning his medical degree he completed his neurosurgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Sy then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He is currently seeing and treating patients at the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.
