Dr. Christopher English is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in hand and upper extremity surgery. He joins Davis Orthopedics after completing a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship with renowned hand surgeon Dr. Neil Ford Jones at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.
Dr. English enjoys caring for patients of all ages. He favors a conservative approach for the majority of orthopedic conditions of the upper extremity and can prescribe and perform appropriate casting, braces, therapy or cortisone injections. When surgery is indicated, his specialized training in hand and upper extremity surgery give him the most up to date training in wrist, elbow and shoulder arthroscopy, endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, and other minimally invasive and microsurgical techniques. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, and board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. English earned his Bachelors of Science in Bioengineering from University of California, San Diego, graduating Summa Cum Laude. While at UC San Diego, he volunteered at medical missions in Ensenada, Mexico interpreting for doctors and giving lectures, utilizing the language skills I acquired during an LDS mission to Chile.
Dr. English obtained my medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. Following this, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. During this time he was awarded the Health Volunteers Overseas Traveling Fellowship (Peru) by the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand. He also published multiple scientific articles and served as chief resident of the university's orthopedic outreach clinic for the underserved.
