Dr. Mattina received an undergraduate degree in chemistry from New York University, and then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the New York University School of Medicine.
He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine in the Cornell Hospital System at North Shore University Hospital-Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He continued on at Cornell at North Shore University Hospital to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular disease including cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography.
Dr. Mattina is an Attending Physician at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ where he is actively engaged in teaching medical students and residents. He is a past recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award, a member of the Residency Committee, and is director of Cardiology Quality Assurance. Dr. Mattina is also an Attending Cardiologist at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ.
Dr. Mattina has held academic appointments including Clinical Associate in Medicine, and Fellow in Medicine, both at Cornell Medical College, and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann School of Medicine.
He is a Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mattina is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians, and also is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and the Medical Society of New Jersey.
