Calvin Selwyn Jr., MD, is a board certified and extensively trained bariatric and general surgeon with special interests in the following procedures; Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, hernia, gallbladder, appendix and colon. Dr. Selwyn Jr., has advanced to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS). This unique surgery involves completion of your operation laparoscopically through one small incision. He also performs upper and lower endoscopies. Dr. Selwyn Jr. received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his residency at Marshfield Clinic/Saint Joseph's Hospital in general surgery. He received the Minimally Invasive Surgery fellow from the University of Cincinnati for bariatric surgery, endoscopy and laparoscopic general surgery. He has been performing weight loss surgery since 2003. He also sees bariatric patients at Ministry Medical Group in Weston and Rhinelander. He spends time volunteering at food drives, blanket drives and is involved with coats for kids.
