Brief Intro

Brian D. Hopkins M.D. has two board certifications: Urology, and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been in private practice in the East Bay since 2000. Dr. Hopkins received his undergraduate education at UCLA with a B.S. in Kinesiology-Physiology. He went to the University of Southern California (USC) for medical school, graduating in 1994. After medical school, he remained at USC for his surgical internship and residency for 6 years, where he received extensive experience in urologic oncology and urinary tract reconstruction, using intestinal segments for patients having their bladders removed for bladder cancer. Dr. Hopkins' practice focuses on the surgical treatment of genitourinary cancer (including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers), advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, female pelvic prolapse and incontinence, and complex genitourinary reconstructive surgery. He has been performing surgery with the da Vinci robot since 2002, being one of the first users of this technology. Dr. Hopkins' mission is to offer the best urologic care to his patients, with an emphasis on conscientious and thorough patient communication, and by ensuring that his patients receive academic-level surgical care, with the latest and most innovative surgical techniques available.
