Dr. Ben DuBois received his undergraduate degree at Oregon State University in 1994. He subsequently received his medical degree at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1998, where he graduated with highest distinction and received numerous academic awards. At the University of Washington in Seattle, Dr. DuBois completed his internship in general surgery in 1999; his residency in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine in 2003; and in 2004 he completed a fellowship in the diagnosis and management of both basic and complex disorders of the shoulder, which includes shoulder replacement surgery, rotator cuff disorders, arthroscopy and fracture care. Dr. DuBois also specializes in sports medicine including operative and nonoperative management of the knee, elbow and ankle. He has the unique training in the use of surgeon-performed shoulder ultrasound for the immediate diagnosis of rotator cuff disorders. This method of diagnosis allows information to be obtained quickly and efficiently without the need for multiple appointments.
, Dr. DuBois is trained in the use of the reverse ball and socket shoulder replacement system. This new surgical technique is for those patients with arthritis of the shoulder associated with large rotator cuff tears, and those with failed previous shoulder replacements. Dr. DuBois has authored numerous articles in published research journals and has presented his research to numerous national meetings. His goal is to accurately diagnose the condition and provide you, the patient, with reasonable treatment options.
