Meet Dr. Anne Dodds
Dr. Anne Dodds is from Scotland where she obtained her initial dental training, graduating from Edinburgh University Dental School in 1982. In 1987 she moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she received her Masters in Public Health from University of Texas. She was a full-time faculty member at UTHSC- San Antonio School of Dentistry until 1994. At this time she was awarded a Dentist- Scientist Award from the National Institutes of Health and went on to earn a PhD in Molecular Biology and complete her Residency in Pediatric Dentistry graduating in 2000. Following graduation she was recruited to a Full-time faculty position at the UNC, School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill where she taught Pediatric Dentistry until 2006. She decided to move into private practice and had to complete the final two years of the DDS program in at UNC to fulfill NC licensure requirements.
On graduation in 2008 she moved with her husband Roger to Fayetteville to her current position at Village Family Dental. Dr. Dodds has numerous research publications and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental association and has maintained an Adjunct Faculty position at UNC where she continues to teach on a part-time basis. Dr. Dodds has staff privileges at both Highsmith Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville and Southeastern Medical Center in Lumberton.
She has one daughter, Katie who is studying Marine Biology at UNC Wilmington and two puppies, Tessa and Fozzie Bear.
