Dr. Cross grew up on a farm in Tennessee. He completed a BS in biology at King University and a DVM at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Cross attended medical school at Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, receiving the MD degree along with AOA honor medical society membership and the James S. Thompson award for the student most likely to bring honor and dignity to the medical profession. He completed his orthopaedic residency at GHS followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cross began practicing at Hand Surgery Specialists in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was involved in the training of many residents from the University of Cincinnati and hand fellows with the Mary S. Stern hand fellowship. In 2015, Dr. Cross returned to Greenville to join The Hand Center. His practice focuses on acute and chronic hand conditions, from sprains and fractures to tendinitis and arthritis. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and in his spare time plays the piano and guitar.
