Brief Intro

Andrew S. Tanner, M.D., joined Rocky Mountain Cancer Centersâ€™ Colorado Springs location as a radiation oncologist in September, 2006. Dr. Tanner completed his residency at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and joined Midwest Radiation Oncology Consultants in 1988. Dr. Tanner was the Co-Medical Director of Northern Illinois Center for Cancer Care and in 2000 was appointed the Medical Director of St. Josephâ€™s Cancer Center. Dr. Tanner has an expertise in intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for breast, prostate, head and neck cancers. He maintains a strong interest in prostate brachytherapy procedures, which he has proctored numerous times, and three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy. Dr. Tanner was one of the founding partners at the Chicago Prostate Center and has performed hundreds of prostate implants. After spending eighteen years with Midwest Radiation Oncology Consultants he is now realizing a life long dream of relocating to Colorado to spend the second half of his medical career at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. An active participant of several professional organizations, Dr. Tanner was a member of the Board of Directors of the McHenry Chapter of the American Cancer Society and chairman of the Cancer Care Committee of Northern Illinois.
