Dr. Andrew Lipka has been a leader in ophthalmology in Central New Jersey for the past 23 years. Since 1986, he has directed Ophthalmology Associates of Princeton, and he extended his practice to the New Brunswick/Highland Park area with the establishment of Brunswick Eye Associates in 1998. Dr. Lipka was named Chief of Ophthalmology at University Medical Center at Princeton in 1994, and has continued to hold that post to this day. He attended Yale University, graduating with honors in 1978, and then earned his M.D. from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Lipka served his ophthalmology residency at St. Vincents Hospital and Medical Center of New York, and was named Chief Resident in 1986. He became Board Certified in Ophthalmology in 1988, and was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology that same year. Dr. Lipka was named to the Ophthalmology Faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1998 and continues to teach at the Medical School to this day. Dr.Lipka specializes in cataract and glaucoma, as well as laser vision correction (LVC) of refractive errors. He has been a leader in LVC in Central New Jersey, performing the first photorefractive keratectomy in the Princeton area, and offering this procedure as well as LASIK correction and Custom Cornea vision correction. He performs cataract surgery at Somerset Eye Institute, as well as at University Medical Center at Princeton, usually in the ambulatory (outpatient) surgical center. Dr. Lipka is also active in medical research, and currently is a participant in 5 multicenter, multinational studies which hold promise to help advance ophthalmologic care in the near future. He is the author of numerous scientific articles, published in the leading ophthalmologic journals in the world. He has appeared frequently on both radio and television, not as a paid advertiser, but as a requested expert in cataract and laser vision correction. Dr. Lipka is married, and the proud father of three. His family resides in Princeton Junction, New Jersey.
