Andrew Nguyen, MD, is a minimally invasive thoracic surgeon with expertise in advanced endoscopy and robotic surgery. He is committed to providing quality care in the comprehensive assessment and complex management of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the lung, esophagus, mediastinum and chest wall. Dr. Nguyen received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School and has been in practice since 2015. He completed a general surgery residency at New York-Presbyterian Queens and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by an advanced fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Before joining Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital, Dr. Nguyen was an assistant professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and most recently assistant professor of surgery at Rutgers RWJBarnabas Health. He practiced as a thoracic surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and subsequently at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Nguyen is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and the Society of Robotic Surgery. He feels privileged to work with a dedicated team of expert physicians who take a multidisciplinary and patient-centered approach to providing optimal care and outcomes.
