He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Colorado Medical Center. He also completed a special fellowship at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Otsuka is the recipient of a two-year research grant from the Leukemia Society. His research began with colony stimulating factors, known as Neupogen or Leukine which have become a pivotal supportive treatment for cancer patients. Dr. Otsuka is a member of the Colorado Medical Society and the Rocky Mountain Oncology Society.
