After undergraduate studies at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, Alexandra Landen graduated summa cum laude with a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Camden. In 2005 she completed her D.O. at the same institution’s campus in Stratford, N.J., after two years’ teaching assistantship in the Department of Osteosciences.
Dr. Landen went on to complete a transitional year internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center (Darby, Pa.) and then returned to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for neurology residency. She followed that with additional neurology residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she remained for movement disorders fellowship.
With current medical licensure in Delaware, Dr. Landen is affiliated with Christiana Care Health System, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Movement Disorder Society. She is also certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Landen has made presentations concerning the use of rasagiline mesylate and the improvement of motor scores and cognition, comparative studies of physical therapy curricula in medical schools, movement disorders in the elderly, and movement disorders’ evaluation and management. She has also been involved in clinical research regarding efficacy and safety of rasagiline mesylate.
