Alex Bradley, MD, MBA is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, complex reconstruction, and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. Through his training, he has extensive experience with minimally invasive and outpatient joint replacement surgery. Dr. Bradley first developed an interest in orthopaedics through his routine visits to the doctor’s office while playing soccer, ice hockey, lacrosse and baseball growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. While he continues to play ice hockey and downhill ski whenever possible, he’s tried to limit the unplanned visits to see the other orthopaedic specialists. Despite leaving Michigan, Dr. Bradley remains a huge Michigan football and Detroit sports fan. For college, Dr. Bradley attended the prestigious Northwestern University near Chicago, IL graduating cum laude. He obtained a degree in biomedical engineering where, among other things, he studied material science and biomechanics, the principles that modern orthopaedics is built on. After Northwestern, Dr. Bradley had his first opportunity to live in California when he attended University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine graduating at the top of his class. After four years in Southern California, Dr. Bradley returned to Chicago, where he worked at the world-renowned University of Chicago, completing his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery. While training to be an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Bradley spent nights and weekends working towards an MBA at the #1-ranked University of Chicago Booth Business School, honing many of the skills that are not traditionally taught in medical school or residency. Finally, he completed his training with a fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, one of the leaders in orthopaedic care worldwide, and the birthplace of outpatient joint replacement. Throughout his training, Dr. Bradley has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and been invited to present his work at conferences across the country. When not focusing on orthopaedics, Dr. Bradley loves to travel, visiting countries around the world and experiencing new cultures firsthand, and being active, spending much of his free time hiking and biking in the summer, skiing in the winter, and playing sports, like ice hockey, year-round.
